The National Meeting of Electric Sector Agents (ENASE) 2025 brought together the main leaders of the energy sector in Rio de Janeiro and placed Brazil at the center of global discussions about the future of energy. Representatives from the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), ANEEL, ONS, CCEE and EPE presented concrete proposals to accelerate a just, modern and innovation-based energy transition.

Among the announcements, Highlight is Provisional Measure No. 1,300, which provides for the full opening of the free energy market by 2027, the end of cross-subsidies and a new, more balanced tariff structure. In addition, initiatives aimed at social inclusion and legal security seek to ensure that the modernization of the sector benefits consumers of all profiles, especially the most vulnerable.
With 84% of electricity generation coming from renewable sources and one of the largest transmission networks in the world, Brazil reinforces its potential as a green power. And it doesn't stop there: investments in clean energy totaled US$ 37 billion in 2023, placing the country among the five emerging countries that attract the most international capital in the area.
Digital transformation also took center stage. The growing demand for data centers and cutting-edge technologies will require new energy infrastructure, and the government is already working on a specific bill for this sector. Experts defend a new, more agile planning model, focusing on storage, reversible hydroelectric dams, and sectoral integration between energy, mining, finance, and technology.
ENASE also prepares the sector for COP 30, to be held in Belém, and reinforces Brazil's role as an articulator of sustainable solutions in the international climate scenario.
