The report also says that 35% of accountants consider the use of technology to be paramount in accounting and invest in it as soon as possible to diversify their offer. Although most are implementing basic tools necessary to monitor work or meet customer expectations, the scenario began to change in 2020, with the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to keep up with accelerated digitalization in companies.
The professionals of accounting they also believe that they need new skills that will shape the future of accounting in the coming years such as technological literacy, building social relations, business advice, project management, and industry experience outside the accounting area. In this sense, talent recruitment is focused on the search for these competencies, and according to the report, 82% of accountants consider recruitment in a non-traditional environment.
As the main challenges for the future of accounting, accountants cite recruitment and training. Faced with the latter, 62% of them accept that today's training will not be enough to carry out a successful practice by 2030.
