Still without plants of this type in the country, Reversible UHEs were the subject of a study prepared by the Energy Research company. The Reversible Hydroelectric Power Plants Roadmap — “Perspectives and paths for inserting reversible power plants in Brazil” is a study that analyzes the opportunities and challenges for inserting these plants in Brazil. It highlights that the construction of a pilot project, the establishment of a grant modality, the reassessment of the market design are fundamental for the viability of this type of project.

A study by Bulbe showed that in 2024, 80% of Brazilians interviewed felt the financial impact on the final amount of the electricity bill. The results show that, despite a financially tight 2024, the forecast for 2025 is still not a relief: about 50% of the interviewees believe that the new year will represent a significant increase in the costs of these services - especially energy bills.
